AB1 technology works closely with the excellence of custom-made in Italy. Our assemblers personally handle the assembly of all components and the binding of each individual guide (ring/roller), after testing the flexion of each blank individually with the help of goniometric walls and a dynamometer, optimizing the efficiency of resistance response. Our roller rods are always bound with triple wraps, using premium-quality thread of various thicknesses, with each wrap followed by an epoxy resin coating.

The colors of the bindings and marbling are customizable by the client. In the TOP custom models, the customization options are extensive, including the choice of bindings, the type of rings or rollers, and the anodized color of the reel seat or handle (straight/curved). Additionally, for the most demanding customers, it’s possible to select the blank best suited to different fishing styles.

AB1 sport fishing rods are built using blanks specifically designed for each tool in the range; they are not commercial or catalog items but are created by AB1 engineering with specific mechanical characteristics. This is a unique construction concept that becomes exclusive in the finished tool with AB1 components. The company philosophy, “Beyond the standardization of commercial dynamics,” forms the starting point for crafting each fishing rod.

The tailored quality of each piece is guaranteed through specific and certified mechanical testing. AB1 designs and manufactures 100% within a closed supply chain, MADE IN ITALY: blanks, components, and custom personalization. Additionally, each rod undergoes static testing in laboratories and dynamic testing at sea with the team of expert, qualified sport fishermen affiliated with the company.
